Standards-Based Intervention Support System (SBI)
Syntiro supports standards-based intervention (SBI) system design in schools and districts through on-site support and regional learning and networking. Standards-based intervention systems integrate RtI pre-referral principles with school improvement research and standards-based practice.
SBI systems directly address student learning of state and national standards, while meeting the state’s general education intervention requirements in Chapters 101 and 20-A.
Syntiro’s SBI approach builds on a two-year pilot project (2009-2011) in RSU 10 and RSU 38 called the Response to Intervention Support System (RISS).
