Roles and Responsibilities of Educational Technicians

Your Educational Technician Authorization is a professional license issued by the State of Maine. It authorizes you to work as part of an educational team helping Maine’s children achieve their educational goals.
This session is designed to help you become familiar with the Authorization system, and to help you understand your rights, roles and responsibilities related to your level of authorization.
Outcomes: Participants will be well informed about how their role is a crucial component to the education of Maine students. This will be evident through exhibiting self-initiative and increased motivation.
Presenter: Joan Morin is a UniServ Director with the Maine Education Association. She has been an advocate for education employees for the past fifteen years with responsibility for employer-employee conflict resolution, the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and the training of educational personnel. Joan also served as the educator representative for the creation of the state of Maine’s Educational Technician Authorization rules and regulations. She began her teaching career as an educational technician.
Learning session fee of $65.00 includes hearty snacks and handouts. Our cancellation policy is 72 hours prior to the event. You will be expected to pay if you do not attend and cannot provide printed confirmation of your cancellation. If you are a full-time student enrolled in an education degree program, contact us about a discount.
Three Clock Hours will be awarded.
