Today’s students can overcome challenges and accomplish scholastic goals, but not all the needed skills are taught directly. The development of  the necessary skills that lead to personal effectiveness as a student include skills like problem solving, conflict resolution, time management, organization, communications, overcoming procrastination, reading comprehension, etc. An academic coach, like an athletic coach, makes observations, suggests changes in approach, and provides encouragement while a student implements new ways of approaching their daily work at school. Spend an afternoon with other interested colleagues reframing our practice to positively support our students’ autonomy, mastery and purpose by enhancing your understanding of coaching and coaching skills.

By the end of the session, success will look, sound, and/or feel like:

  • A clearer understanding of what it takes to coach today’s students towards mastery of defined learning outcomes.

  • Powerful professional learning that feeds your need to be a continuous learner for your professional work.
