Learn how to develop mathematics intervention lesson plans using the Common Core State Standards for mathematics. Participants will explore a research-based lesson planning framework, see lesson plan exemplars, and learn about Syntiro’s RtI Support System.

Outcomes: Participants will:
- Explore current research about effective intervention in mathematics.
- Understand the implications of using essential standards to design math interventions.
- Be aware of essential Common Core math standards and how to “unpack” them for use with students.
- Experience a research-based math intervention lesson planning framework aligned with a Common Core math standard.
- Evaluate model lesson plans accessible on the RISS web site.
- Identify additional work and learning in math intervention lesson planning.
Presenters: Ann Pike, M.Ed., is an education consultant. Her experience includes working with the Western Maine Partnership, serving as regional director for SEED, providing RtI development support through Syntiro, teaching graduate level courses, and designing and leading workshops and presentations on a number of education topics. Heidi McGinley, M.Ed., is an education consultant specializing to standards-based practice, RtI design, and assessment development. She is the director of Syntiro’s RtI Support System project.
Learning session fee of $120.00 includes hearty snacks, lunch, and handouts. Our cancellation policy is 72 hours prior to the event. You will be expected to pay if you do not attend and cannot provide printed confirmation of your cancellation. If you are a full-time student enrolled in an education degree program, contact us about a discount.
Five Clock Hours will be awarded.
