
Applications for the 2026 Shelley Reed Memorial Scholarship will open on February 1.

Honoring the legacy of Shelley Reed, this scholarship supports Maine students in achieving their postsecondary dreams. Applicants must be high school seniors who have experienced foster care or homelessness during any part of their final year of high school and have been accepted to an in-state (Maine) public or private institution of higher education.


About Shelley Reed
Shelley Reed, of Wayne, Maine, was passionate about the education of all children. She was ateacher and school counselor before she became an Education Specialist at the Maine Department of Education where she focused on the areas of truancy, dropout, alternative education, school counselors, homeless education, expelled and suspended youth, liaison to military, Maine Afterschool Network, Juvenile Justice Advisory Group.
In honor of Shelley’s memory, the Syntiro Board of Directors has established the Shelley Reed Memorial Scholarship.
