About Syntiro
Syntiro is a respected leader in building capacity, making change, and promoting equity and social justice. Syntiro works for equity in partnership with educators, state agencies, and community organizations seeking to acquire knowledge, embrace change, and increase effectiveness in education and employment.
For thirty-six years, our Readfield, Maine-based nonprofit has been respected for its commitment to providing creative and innovative professional development and results-based services addressing critical issues facing Maine and the nation.
Syntiro, the Greek word for “support” is at the heart of all that we do as we address the varied needs of our partners—local, state, and federal agencies, educators, employers, organizations and individuals. The Syntiro team brings diverse and extensive leadership experience to assist in designing solutions that achieve results.
Founded in 1986 as the Maine Support Network, our efforts have evolved and our work greatly expanded. Initially, we provided quality and engaging professional development and technical assistance to educators across the state. While this passion for high quality professional development remains a foundation of our work, we have expanded our endeavors into new areas including enhancing and improving educational outcomes for all students, including college and career preparation and access.
